GyeokSangCam 1.0.1 Update
Fixes the Store version closing when recording starts and adds the Claude connection (MCP). GyeokSangCam stays free for personal use — no watermark, no time limit, no sign-up.
Available as a Microsoft Store automatic update and as an EXE download.
Fixes
- Fixed the Microsoft Store version closing when recording starts. A memory error when opening the audio device made the Store version quit the moment recording began. Recording now works normally in the Store version.
- Fixed the “codec check failed” message shown at startup in the Store version.
New: Claude connection (MCP)
- The AI assistant Claude (Claude Desktop, Claude Code) can now control GyeokSangCam. For example: “Record a 1280×720 area at the top left of the screen”, “Stop recording and show me the file list”.
- What it can do: start/stop/pause recording, capture images, change the recording mode and area, set sound and video formats, use drawing mode, and list saved files.
- How to turn it on: GyeokSangCam [General] → [Claude connection] → check “Enable Claude connection” → copy the settings shown and paste them into Claude.
- It is off by default and works only after you turn it on.
Security
- The Claude connection accepts connections only from your own PC (not from other PCs or the internet), using a secret key created fresh every time the app starts.
- A red frame is always shown while recording, and every command from Claude is logged in the terminal.
- There are no risky commands such as deleting files or running other programs. Recordings and screenshots stay on your PC and are never uploaded.
- We reviewed the security of the whole app in this release and made command execution on the [Setup] page safer.
Other improvements
- If the app closes unexpectedly while recording, it now writes a log (crash.log) to help find the cause. Please include this file when contacting us.
- Empty work folders left in the save folder after an unexpected close are cleaned up on the next start.
How to update
- Microsoft Store: updates automatically. To update now: Microsoft Store app → [Library] → [Get updates].
- EXE: download the new EXE from this page and replace the old one. Your settings are kept.
- Check the version on the [About] page: it should say 1.0.1.
