GyeokSangCut updates

New: Claude connection (MCP)

Register GyeokSangCut in Claude Desktop or Claude Code, and a request like these is all it takes.

• “Cut D:\Videos\trip.mp4 from 1:10 to 2:00”
• “Join the three videos in this folder into one, in order”
• “Split this video into 10-minute parts”
• “Upscale it to 4K and save it”

What Claude can do

• Check video information (length, resolution, codec)
• Cut (several ranges, or join the ranges into one file), split (by count, time or size), and join
• Check the progress of a job and cancel it
• Change settings such as output mode, upscaling and save folder
• Control the open GyeokSangCut window: open files, set ranges, press [Start], switch screens, theme and language (if allowed in Settings)

How to connect

1. Update GyeokSangCut to 1.0.1 (Microsoft Store updates it automatically).
2. In GyeokSangCut, go to the [About] screen → “Claude connection (MCP)” and press a button.
   • Claude Code: [Copy Claude Code command] → paste it into a terminal
   • Claude Desktop: [Copy Claude Desktop settings] → paste into the Claude Desktop settings file (claude_desktop_config.json) and restart Claude Desktop
3. To let Claude control the open window too, turn on “Allow Claude to control the program window” in [Settings] → [General]. Cutting, splitting and joining work without it.

Built to be safe

• No network port is opened. Only the same Windows user on the same computer can connect.
• Window control is off by default and works only after you turn it on. Claude cannot turn it on by itself.
• Original videos are never overwritten, and there is no function that deletes files. The program chooses the output file names.
• Every command Claude sends to the window is logged in the program terminal as [Claude], so you can check it.
• We ran two security reviews before release, and all 115 automated tests, including attack inputs, passed.
• As before, GyeokSangCut collects no personal information and sends no videos or files anywhere. However, information processed by the Claude you connect (file paths, video information) is subject to the Claude service’s privacy policy.

Good to know

• With the Claude connection, only paths on this computer such as C:\ and D:\ can be used. Network shares (\\server\folder) are not accepted for security reasons, so map NAS videos to a drive letter first.
• Using the program on screen works exactly as before. Nothing changes if you don’t use Claude.
• Free for personal use. Companies, public institutions and organizations need a separate license (contact: contact@gyeoksang.com).
